For the grand finale in Anime, Tanjiro and the Hashira from Demon Slayer still have to defeat the strongest demons. Who remains for the final battles will be seen in the following ranking.
How were the demons selected? The demons (or devils) from Demon Slayer are divided into the 12 Kizuki. These are the 12 most powerful existing demons who have received a lot of blood from their leader Muzan and work for him. The higher a demon’s rank and the stronger they are, the lower their number.
The 12 Kizuki are divided into the six upper (waxing moon) and the six lower ranks (waning moon). In this ranking, we only deal with the six upper Kizuki, as the six lower ones have already been defeated in the anime. They were:
- Lower 6: Kamanue
- Lower 5: Rui
- Lower 4: Mukago
- Lower 3: Wakuraba
- Lower 2: Rokuro
- Lower 1: Enmu
From here on, the abilities of the upper 6 Kizuki and their current status are presented before they appear in the film for the Infinity Castle Arc of Demon Slayer, which starts on September 18th. Note that we do not count Muzan – he is undeniably the strongest of all demons. Additionally, Hantengu (former Upper 4) does not appear, as his place has already been replaced in Season 4.
The strongest demons from Demon Slayer in ranking
Daki and Gyutaro
- Rank: Upper 6
- Status: Eliminated (Season 2)

The rank of Upper 6 was shared by a sibling pair. As humans, they lived in the poorest part of the entertainment district – Daki worked as a courtesan due to her beauty, while Gyutaro was considered ugly and worked as a debt collector.
Both died due to an encounter with a samurai, after which Doma, Upper 2, transformed them into demons. As demons, they had the unique trait of sharing a body. They could only be defeated if they were beheaded simultaneously.
Daki could manipulate her sashes and use them like blades. Additionally, she had one of Gyutaro’s eyes implanted, granting him her body as a living space. Gyutaro created flying blood sickles with deadly poison from his own flesh. Ultimately, they were defeated by Tengen Uzui, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke.
