On the evening of June 26, 2025, there are some issues with the servers of Steam. According to user reports, there are problems with several features of the Steam store. The search and players’ wish lists are reportedly inaccessible, and there are also issues loading individual product pages. However, other features seem to be functioning properly.
What issues are there? After the launch of the summer sale from Steam, there are server issues for users. Three problems are affecting users in the evening:
- The wishlist on Steam is not accessible
- The search function in the Steam store is not working
- Payment for items in the cart is failing.
Currently, it seems that the game servers are not affected. A drop in player numbers for the largest titles on Steam cannot be confirmed according to SteamDB.
What never causes problems are the Dead Drops:
Users are frustrated about the sale
What do the players say? Many Steam users want to snag new games at cheaper prices on the evening of the summer sale. However, the new issues on Steam are causing frustration among players. The sale entices with low prices, but the shop is making it difficult for many:
- Kooky-Beat-851 says on Reddit: “I waited an hour and couldn’t buy anything.”
- Unfortunate1313 is also frustrated on Reddit: “I really thought my internet was bad. I am relieved and WANT TO SPEND MY MONEY”
- Jpro_2013 feels similarly on Reddit: “The servers crashed because of too many buyers.”
- User dark_abyss94 explains on Reddit: “Give it a few hours, others couldn’t even access their wishlist or search for a game.”
Why are there problems? The issues with the Steam servers began after the launch of the summer sale from Steam. Hundreds or even thousands of products are discounted at once every year. This event attracts many users who want to check if their favorite game has been reduced.
It can therefore be assumed that the features of Steam that are currently unavailable have collapsed under the heavy load at the start of the event. However, Valve has not yet confirmed if this is the final reason. Should Valve comment on the issues, we will update this article.
