Charlie Cox is the voice of Gustave from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. He hasn’t been able to play the RPG himself yet, and for good reason.
Who is the voice actor? Charlie Cox is an actor that some of you might know as Daredevil. He is also the voice of Gustave from Expedition 33. He became known for his work in the video game, as he supposedly recorded for only 4 hours for such a great performance in the studio. Cox said at the time that he felt like a fraud.
In a Q&A at GalaxyCon, he answered numerous questions about his career. There, he also talked about his performance in Clair Obscur, because he didn’t remember who Esquie was. He admitted that at first, he didn’t even know who he had voiced when he was approached about it on the street. Cox believed up until that panel that he was the final boss of the game.
Ultimately, he realizes that he absolutely needs to play the game. But for that, he would be missing something important.

What does he lack for that? Since Cox is not a gamer, he doesn’t own a console, as he mentions in the Q&A. Thus, he needs several things to catch up on Expedition 33:
Yes, I want to play the game. I have to play the game. I first need to get a console and then I have to play the game.
As Cox reveals, the last time he played was Super Mario 64. The video game was released in 1996, meaning it would be nearly 30 years since the voice actor last played a video game. He jokingly adds that the graphics of video games have improved tremendously since then.
How does he feel about it? He again mentioned that he feels like a fraud because he just provided his voice. He is even more happy for the developers for their success because they are not a big company that produces tons of games. And they have the potential for Game of the Year, as MeinMMO editor Jasmin Beverungen can attest.
