The Skies: Postapokalyptisches Survival-MMORPG bald im Early Access

With The Skies, a new post-apocalyptic survival-MMORPG is coming soon!

The American-Ukrainian development studio Eforb is currently working on The Skies for PC. The MMORPG combines shooter and RPG elements and is set in a post-apocalyptic world. You are survivors trying to find your place in this world. The developers state that they want to offer players a lot of freedom. Therefore, there is no linear story to follow.

Your actions change the world

Rather, your actions determine how the fortunes in the world change. Your actions affect the economy and can even trigger larger events. For example, you could be responsible for the outbreak of a war. Thus, the world is constantly changing due to your actions, and you will always have to react to these changes. Cities can be overrun or taken over by a faction from one day to the next, which influences the entire economy in the area. However, it would also be possible to unite and liberate these cities.

Linear gameplay is something the developers want to completely avoid. Everything should be dynamic and determined by the players. How exactly the survival elements will play into this is still not entirely clear. Going by the trailer, you will at least need to pay attention to food and water. The apocalyptic world is also home to mutants, so you will have to face these creatures in the wilderness. In addition, there are PvP battles and territorial wars.

If what you know about the MMO The Skies excites you, you can make up your own mind about the game from April 8th. Because on this day, the Closed-Early-Access version will launch on Steam. An open Early Access for everyone will start on April 16th. It seems that The Skies will adopt a hybrid model between Free2Play and subscription with a premium account for subscribers.
