The Mystery MMO The Secret World has been re-released as Secret World Legends. However, veterans and fans of the original fear that developer Funcom will soon shut down the old TSW. The reason is that Funcom seems to have ignored the fifth anniversary of The Secret World.
The Secret World now exists alongside the re-release Secret World Legends and can still be played. However, many players and fans have concerns about the future of the original game. They fear that Funcom finds the old TSW to be a nuisance and would like to get rid of it.
Secret World Legends – The End of The Secret World?
According to some fans of The Secret World, the game is highly endangered and the reason is the complete lack of the usual celebrations for the 5th anniversary of the game.
Neither was there the usual anniversary event in the game, nor was the 5th anniversary of the game mentioned by the developer in any way. Hence the concern: “Funcom wants to get rid of TSW as soon as possible and only continue with Secret World Legends!”
However, Executive Producer Scott Junior has now responded on MMORPG.com and issued a statement. According to him, the team for both Secret World games is quite small and can only focus on one thing. And thus, the smooth execution of the first anniversary of Secret World Legends was prioritized.
This is the only reason for the absence of the anniversary celebrations in the original TSW. They will keep the servers of The Secret World running as long as there is interest from the players in this game. New content will, however, only be released for the remake and not for the original anymore.
