The second Javelin in Anthem just won’t unlock. But BioWare is already working on the problem.
The VIP demo of Anthem is running, but there are many issues. After prolonged server difficulties, players are now also plagued by bugs. One bug prevents many players from unlocking one of the promised features: a second Javelin.
Second Javelin refuses to unlock: Players of the VIP demo of Anthem were supposed to be able to unlock a second Javelin of their choice starting at level 12.
This would have given them the opportunity to test a second of a total of four suits, to individualize themselves a bit more in the game, and to try out a new playstyle. However, many players cannot do this as they are simply not receiving the corresponding unlock at the Forge.
This is what BioWare says about it: The developers shared on Reddit that they are looking into it and are checking why the unlocking of the second Javelin is not working. They don’t seem to be entirely sure about the error yet.
Mark Darrah explained on Twitter that there “could be two different reasons.” Both options are likely being examined, and hopefully, a patch will be deployed soon.
There is currently no workaround. So anyone who cannot unlock their second Javelin will just have to be patient for a while.
At least there’s something good about it: It’s much better for these errors to occur now in the VIP demo than to find them only at the launch of the game.
Update 19:00: On Twitter, lead producer Ben Irving writes that BioWare may have found the error. Players who could not unlock the Javelin at level 12 should now receive it retroactively. However, this may take one to two hours.
Are you also affected by the problem and cannot unlock the next Javelin? Or have you managed to overcome this obstacle and are already busy blasting with the second suit?
