The PS5 has received a major update with Update 10: Finally, customizable backgrounds that you can adjust at least in part on your PS5 are included.
What is the new feature? The Welcome Hub is now available on the home screen. This adds a new area to the PS5 that you can personalize: Previously, this area was called “Explore,” but it is now replaced by the “Welcome” Hub.
The advantage of this: You can completely customize the Hub and finally set a background image on your PS5. This is at least better than before and should please many players on the PS5. Because this was a feature that many wished for since the PS4 era for the PS5.
The Welcome Hub can be set up completely according to your ideas
The Welcome Hub is a new personalized area with customizable widgets and backgrounds on the PS5 home screen. It will be rolled out worldwide in the coming weeks and starts today for selected players in the USA.
In Germany, we still have to wait one to two months until the feature is available for us as well.
What can you customize? You can vigorously adjust the new Hub according to your wishes: You can choose from a variety of widgets, including:
- one that shows how full your console storage is.
- Battery levels for accessories.
- Online status of friends.
- collected trophies in your games.
Additionally, Sony also offers presets if you don’t want to make the settings yourself.
Why do we still have to wait? Presumably, Sony wants to collect feedback from its American customers to continue adjusting and improving the feature.
When is Update 10 coming? The update is available now according to PlayStation.com and is usually downloaded automatically to your console.
