A player must find out that others must also suffer from his mistakes in Baldur’s Gate 3. This also affects his summoned helpers.
What did the player find out? The player and Reddit user Dinoratsastaja discovered that the guards in Baldur’s Gate 3 are more consistent than expected. When he was on a mission to prevent a bad headline about himself and his party, his summoned fire elemental broke a crate – and was promptly arrested and sent to jail.
The player writes in his Reddit post that he had no idea that this was even possible. However, he found the situation too funny to load an old save to try again without getting caught. Instead, he resolved to break his elemental out of jail, because he actually could find him there again… but he was not the same.
Here you can see the animated short film for Patch 8 of Baldur’s Gate 3:
In Baldur’s Gate, the same laws apply to all, including summons
What happened to the elemental in jail? When the player ventured to the Heapside prison, he found that the guards not only confiscated his hammer but also his fire hair. Another player wonders (via Reddit) whether the elemental’s hair is a source of its fire damage and whether it was taken from him for that reason, but another player insists that the elemental was “just going through a phase” in jail (via Reddit).
After a few more updates from the author of the original post, he writes that the elemental was successfully freed and was able to get his hair back (via Reddit).
What does the community point out? Some players share in the comments that this player’s experience has already been used by some as a method to acquire the weapons from summons like Deva or Myrmidons.
The player dankmeister666 points out that the small hammer from simple fire elementals is a great weapon for Karlach (via Reddit) and also Lost-Priority-907 writes: “I literally just thought: ‘It’s time to make all my summons criminals so I can have their weapons'” (via Reddit).
You just have to steal the weapons from the chest in the prison where the belongings of the prisoners are kept – and then you become richer by one rare weapon.
The player’s experience illustrates that even unexpected events are possible in Baldur’s Gate 3, no matter how absurd they may sound. Even more disappointed are players that a relatively mundane thing is not possible, preventing players from helping the needy of the city: Players can defeat huge armies in Baldur’s Gate 3, yet giving a gold coin to a pleading mother is not possible
