Halloween Event 2018 in Overwatch is starting soon. We will tell you when it starts and what you can expect.
When is the Halloween Event? In 2018, the event runs from October 9 to October 31. Due to the different time zones, it will likely start for us on October 10. This date applies to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The date has already been leaked in advance.
Special Lootboxes: As usual, the main incentive for the event is the special Halloween lootboxes. These contain certain skins, emotes, and other cosmetics that are only available during this event. Those who are unlucky can also simply craft their loot with credits instead of buying or earning lootboxes.
What new features are there? So far, little is known about the new features. It seems there will not be a fresh game mode this time, at least Jeff Kaplan has announced that in the past.
New decorations seem to be in store for the deathmatch map Chateau Guillard this time. Widowmaker will likely decorate her estate festively so that players can push each other off the railing in a spooky atmosphere. At least that is what the first small teaser for the event suggests.
Will there be new skins? There will definitely be new skins. Some speculations about this have already been made in the past few days.
Additionally, Blizzard has already confirmed that Junkenstein’s monster will finally get a bride. Fans speculate that there will be a total of 9 new skins, which roughly corresponds to Blizzard’s usual pace for events. 6 skins would then be legendary and 3 others epic.
