It’s time: The Overwatch Anniversary Event 2018 is starting on PC, PS4, and Xbox One! You can now log in and grab skins and emotes or dive into the new Deathmatch Ranked mode on the new map Petra.
Overwatch Anniversary Event 2018 online since 5 PM: On Tuesday, May 22 at 5 PM Central European Time, a patch for Overwatch was released. The patch brings the Overwatch Anniversary Event 2018. The patch is about 1.3GB in size.
New Anniversary Skins and Skins from Old Events
During the event, you can earn loot boxes that contain at least one item from the Anniversary Event. The items can be from this year or the previous year. You can look forward to 11 new skins, including 8 legendary ones.
In addition to the Anniversary Skins, there may also be random cosmetic items from all other events! If you’re missing Junkenstein or Gift Maker Torbjörn, now’s your chance to get them again.
New Deathmatch Map with Ranked Mode: Along with the cosmetic items from the loot boxes, Blizzard is also releasing a new map: Petra.
Petra is a pure Deathmatch map where all players compete against each other, comparable to Château Guillard.
You can even compete with others. The Anniversary Event brings a Ranked mode for Deathmatch in which you can climb the leaderboard. The leaderboard is separate from the standard ranked mode and completely independent.
Old Event Brawls: In the Arcade, you will find brawls from old events that change daily. Every day you can play a different brawl from a past event, including Lúcioball or Mei’s Snowball Fight.
Blizzard is celebrating: There is a special video for the Anniversary Event!
A Legendary Loot Box for Everyone: If you log in during the event, you will receive a loot box for free – just like that. The loot box is guaranteed to contain a legendary item. If you purchase 50 loot boxes at once, one of the boxes is also guaranteed to be legendary.
A Free Weekend in Overwatch is Coming This Week Too
Free Test Weekend: From May 25 to May 28, new players can play and test Overwatch for free.
How long does the Anniversary Event last? The Anniversary Event 2018 ends on June 11.
