The new chapter of the manga for One Piece is actually set to be released in a few days. However, leaks are already revealing what will happen in the next chapter. As a result, we know what happened to one of the characters who has faced a terrible fate.

Which character is involved? In the leaks on Reddit, we learn what happened to Monkey D. Luffy’s grandfather, Marine Vice Admiral Garp. Unfortunately, Garp has recently been hit hard. During the rescue operation at Hachinosu, the base of the Blackbeard Pirates, Garp was defeated by Kuzan.
Garp’s goal was to rescue his protégé, Corby. The unit managed to achieve that, but in exchange, Garp had to stay behind. He was lying bloodied on the ground, impaled by an ice spear. Things looked grim for him, and it was unclear whether he survived the attack. His fate will now be clarified in the new chapter.

What happened to him? In the upcoming chapter, there will be a scene where Blackbeard returns to Hachinosu. He is angry that Pizarro, a member of his crew, let Corby escape. At the same time, he praises Kuzan for capturing Garp.
The word “capturing” means that Garp is still alive despite his severe injuries. However, he is now in the custody of Blackbeard, one of the strongest pirates ever.
What could happen next? Some fans on Reddit speculate that there could be a rescue operation similar to the one in the Marineford arc. During a potential execution, Luffy might try to save one of his family members again. Unfortunately, he failed to do so with Ace.
The execution could bring not only Luffy but also Sabo and Garp’s biological son, Monkey D. Dragon, into play. The Marines would also likely have an interest in rescuing Garp. This could lead to a massive battle, which would probably not bode well for Blackbeard.
