Nintendo has introduced a new feature for the Switch 2: GameChat. This saves you the cumbersome attempts to chat with your friends. Also included is a microphone and camera
What is this new feature? The Nintendo Switch 2 is getting a new feature called GameChat
. This gives you an integrated voice chat and chat on the Switch that you can actively use to talk to your friends.
Also included is a new camera, which allows you to chat live with your friends while playing. Your face will then be superimposed over the gameplay, like in a livestream. In games like Mario Party Jamboree, your face will be shown in the mini-games themselves.
In Mario Party Jamboree, the camera is also used for some mini-games. For example, you need to jump into the air for one mini-game. The required camera can be purchased as additional accessories for the Switch 2 and currently costs 59.99 euros. It is not yet known if other cameras will also work.
You will also need the Switch Online
membership. The microphone is built into the Switch, while you have to purchase the camera separately.
