When the upcoming Minecraft movie showed its first teaser, fans were skeptical. The new trailer is now received much better, but everyone agrees: With Twitch streamer Gronkh it would be even cooler.
What is up with the trailer? On November 20, 2024, the first full trailer for the upcoming Minecraft movie was released. After the teaser was too childish for many in September, this version is now receiving much more approval. However, everyone agreed: With Gronkh it would be much cooler.
And indeed, the Twitch streamer has a surprise for his fans.

Gronkh and Minecraft go together
What role does Gronkh have? The Twitch streamer will apparently take on the role of the narrator. He announced this while playing Minecraft with the “Who’s Who” of the German scene as part of the Craftattack project. Gronkh can’t reveal much more, as the cheers from the creators around him are so loud.

Why were people hoping for Gronkh? Many viewers, as well as some of the people who are now among the biggest German-speaking streamers, grew up with Gronkh and his Let’s Plays – especially with Minecraft. Therefore, a Minecraft movie without him is hard to imagine for many German Minecraft fans.
One of the top comments under the German version of the trailer on YouTube with over 300 likes reads: “Instead of Jason Momoa, they should have used Gronkh.”
The Twitch streamer Papaplatte also announced in his reaction to the new trailer (via TikTok): “Yeah, somehow the trailer is more exciting than the first one, right? […] I don’t find it that utterly terrible.” High praise from someone who has spent well over 1,000 hours in Minecraft alone on Twitch.

What would be crazy is if they included Gronkh as a voice actor in the German version for something.
As “crazy” as the idea is: Apparently, the producers of the movie thought so too.
With the brand new trailer and Gronkh’s voice, the Minecraft movie might still convince some skeptics. For everyone else, maybe the project of the Let’s Player Paluten is interesting: A German YouTuber could deliver Minecraft fans the movie they truly deserve
