Just under a week before the release of Visions of Eternity for Guild Wars 2, a new trailer amazes fans. Some of them even compare it to one of the most beautiful games on Steam.
What is Visions of Eternity? Visions of Eternity is the sixth expansion for the MMORPG Guild Wars 2, following Janthir Wilds. Before the release, there is another first look at a new area of the expansion:
- The “Shipwreck Strand” is a rugged beach area featuring clear waters, bright sandy beaches, and lush vegetation
- Additionally, one can find impressive rock formations here as well as, as the name suggests, one or two shipwrecks

Fans are excited about the new map
How do fans find the new area? In the comments on the trailer on YouTube, players express mainly one thing, namely admiration:

- michram states: “The map design team surely delivers as usual as well as the composers.”
- PatrickMacielCampos raves: “The map is beautiful. I really liked the day-night cycle, the caves, the sky. Congratulations on your excellent work, everyone. I’m looking forward to the expansion’s launch.”
YouTube user PzTnT even compares the new area to one of the most beautiful games on Steam. He writes: “This is definitely giving me ori and the will of the wisps vibes with the music and environment shown.” alexwatts1356 agrees: “Oooooh what a great connection. Completely agree.”
What game is the trailer being compared to here? Ori and the Will of the Wisps is the sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest and, like its predecessor, impresses with a stunningly beautiful backdrop and strong art style. Regarding the graphics, “it’s like someone animated a work of art,” states the user Kultleaderin in her Steam review of the game.
The press also praised Ori and the Will of the Wisps for its beautiful graphics. In the GamePro review, it was stated upon release that it is “one of the most beautiful 2D games we have seen so far.”
Whether the rest of the expansion can keep up remains to be seen. Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity will be released on October 28, 2025.
