A new system update for the PS5 is being released today. MeinMMO explains what is included in the new update for the PS5.
Starting today, you can download the new update for your PS5. It includes a new feature for the PS5, and primarily consists of bug fixes and stability improvements.
MeinMMO explains what is included in the new update 6.50 and how large the update will be on your PS5.
New PS5 system update brings support for the DualSense Edge
How big is the update? The software update for the PlayStation 5 is now available for download. The file size is just over 1 GB. Normally, the update downloads automatically on your console. Without the installed update, you cannot play online.
What’s in the update? This new patch adds the software requirements for the DualSense Edge controllers to the console before the official launch. The DualSense Edge is the new official pro controller for the PS5 and is expected to be officially available in stores on January 26, 2023.
The special thing about the controller is that you can fully customize it – a wish that many users have voiced about the PlayStation for a long time. The price of the DualSense Edge did not please many gamers, however.
Aside from support for the DualSense Edge, the new update also improves the performance of the PS5 system software in general. The patch notes do not contain any further details about today’s update.
Otherwise, Sony is working diligently behind the scenes on its console. In the meantime, they have introduced a new version of the PS5 that is supposed to save power. This is especially interesting in times when the cost of electricity and energy is rising.
There are no further exciting contents in the current update 6.50. However, in the last update, Sony integrated a feature that MeinMMO editor Benedikt Schlotmann had been waiting for a long time:
Sony is finally bringing the feature to the PS5 today that I have been waiting for 2 years
