New gameplay videos are circulating for the anime MMORPG “Blue Protocol” (PC) by Bandai Namco from the closed alpha. The game looks like an anime come to life. Many are asking: Will it come to Europe and North America? Unfortunately, there isn’t much good news regarding a release for the EU and the West.
What kind of game is Blue Protocol? We reported on Blue Protocol on MeinMMO at the end of June, stating: “This new MMORPG looks like a playable anime.“
Blue Protocol is developed by Bandai Namco, a renowned Japanese publisher (Dark Souls, Tekken). The new MMORPG has already made headlines with its first images.

Players are supposed to travel through space and time. What makes it special is that Blue Protocol will be a PC MMORPG – there are hardly any left, since the mobile boom started in Asia.

This is what the MMORPG Blue Protocol looks like: The first alpha of Blue Protocol has now started, primarily featuring Japanese players. The closed alpha is actually under strict NDA – but some videos have already leaked online.

No release of Blue Protocol in Europe currently planned, but …
Will the MMORPG also come to Europe? Here, there is bad news. On reddit the administration of the Blue Protocol subreddit says they have received official word from Bandai Namco:
“Bandai Namco currently has no plans to release the game in the West. However, Bandai Namco also stated that this is something that could change.”
So there is a small hope that Blue Protocol may still get a release in Europe and come to the West.
Until then, it looks like we now have another MMORPG to hope for from afar, alongside Lost Ark.
