After the major update in Pokémon GO, the community has some tips that can bring you advantages.
On October 15, 2025, the major update with the revision of the level system in Pokémon GO was released. After some uncertainty throughout the day regarding the time the update would appear, it was rolled out late in the evening.
With the new level system, there were also some rewards that trainers received. Resourceful trainers from the community found ways for you to take advantage of the transition to gain some benefits.
More Items, More Stardust
What tips are there? The first insight comes from the user atarisoft on Reddit. He noticed that you can see in your friends list if a trainer has not logged in since the transition of the level system.
If this is the case, then your friend still has the old level that all trainers had before the transition. This can be used to check in the coming days which trainers from your list have not logged in since. This way, you can more easily sort out friends who are no longer active and replace them with new friends.
By doing this, you can add back active friends to your list, who are more likely to provide you with gifts daily. You will receive more items and stardust as a result.
The second tip relates to the amount of items that were available during the transition of the level system and comes from Trooooper0987 on Reddit. If you received a relatively high level from the update, then you were rewarded with vast amounts of items, including berries.
You can use these berries to feed Pokémon in gyms. For each berry you feed to a monster, you receive a small amount of stardust. Additionally, you have the chance to receive candies from the monster you fed the berries to.
Furthermore, there is a medal called Berry Master. To bring this to Platinum, you need to feed a total of 15,000 berries to monsters in gyms. To reach levels 71 – 80, you need to unlock a number of Platinum medals. So, the berries can already be of some help if you have not already plated the medal.
