For some, the name Michael Bay has become synonymous with mindless action filled with exaggerated explosions and contrived coolness – in slow motion, of course. The director is not entirely innocent of this. In his 14 films so far, he has established his clean, yet extravagant style.
This is particularly evident in the Transformers films, but also in other works like Pearl Harbor, Bad Boys or Armageddon. As long as it explodes. The formula generally works wonderfully at the box office. Michael Bay represents overwhelm, and those who like that will surely have a lot of fun with his films.
