Linus Tech Tips, one of the most well-known tech channels on YouTube was taken over by nasty hackers. In a talk, Linus Sebastian, the head of the channel, explains what happened. He can’t help but poke a little fun at Twitch streamer Asmongold.
Asmongold is regarded as the biggest MMORPG streamer on Twitch and is one of the most recognized faces on the platform. And he tells his viewers that he did nothing wrong.

Linus talks about the hack on his life’s work
How does Linus annoy Asmongold? In a talk, Linus explains on YouTube how the major hack on his channels occurred. Here he believes that he needs to be faster than a certain streamer. He needed to release a reaction to the hack while the momentum was on his side. He explains to the host of the show:
You know, the community was waiting on Reddit, in the LTT forum, and on Twitter for a video from me about it before Asmongold does, right?
I’m not going to be Moistcr1tikal, but if I can beat Asmongold to explain my own situation [to him], then that’s probably a good thing right now.
How does the streamer react? Asmongold reacts very surprised. So much so that his eyebrows can’t stop twitching. He then explains that he is completely innocent and has reasons why he hasn’t reported on it:
The funniest damn thing about it is that it was the only thing I didn’t report on because I didn’t want to highlight the damn hack any more. That’s why I let him win. (…) That’s why I didn’t make a video about it.

Linus and Asmongold have made ” acquaintance” before
The Twitch streamer knows Linus Sebastian and his tech channel all too well. A few months ago, Linus and his team looked at a gaming PC built by the PC company of Asmongold and sold for a lot of money.
And Linus has a reputation for being critical of hardware and thus being able to dish out devastating criticism. Accordingly, Asmongold is worried when he has to watch the video:
