The developers of Chrono Odyssey have once again commented on the feedback from the last closed beta of the MMORPG and unveiled the first part of their plans for the upcoming development.
Was there not already a developer statement? That’s right! Back in early July, the team behind Chrono Odyssey shared the community feedback from the recent beta test with the public and identified 4 key areas that the Chrono Studio team urgently needs to address before launch.
The new post on Steam goes into much greater depth and will be complemented by a second post in the coming days. What’s exciting is already how extensive the developers’ ToDo list is and that they want to take the time to implement the feedback accordingly.
We do not intend to rush forward without getting everything right first. We want the next version of Chrono Odyssey to reflect all the hard work and honest feedback that has gone into this process. Our focus remains on quality and a more refined, comprehensive experience.

To-Do List for Chrono Odyssey
What are the developers planning? In the first part of the development plans, the team names 3 main areas they want to focus on:
Animations and Combat
- The hit feedback must be noticeably improved; actions should not feel sluggish or uncoordinated. Every movement should feel consistent and responsive. The possible reason for this not being the case has probably already been identified. Keywords: packet desynchronization between client and server.
- Each weapon will receive its own identity. This will involve a system called “Matrix” that will grant access to 4 progression paths per weapon. These paths are intended to significantly impact your playstyle and gaming experience.
- New combat animations will come, making each weapon feel unique and expressive.
- The camera and the lock-on system for targeting enemies will be optimized.
Performance and Optimization
- The developers want to reduce GPU usage to avoid GPU and rendering load.
- The efficiency of development should be optimized by using reusable environmental resources, which should also benefit performance and maintenance.
- By restructuring the loading system, memory consumption should be reduced and system stability improved. The new dynamic loading system should adapt to players’ hardware.
Graphics
- Through various adjustments, the developers aim to improve the visual quality of the game, reduce unnecessary calculations and GPU usage while increasing realism.
- The lighting effects, which were often criticized in the beta, will be optimized.
In the second part of the plans, according to the developers, the focus will also be on combat systems, technical stability, graphics, and animations. However, there are also topics such as sound, UI/UX, gameplay flexibility, player guidance, balancing, content flow, progression, replayability, social features, story, server stability, and bug fixes.
Chrono Odyssey is scheduled to be released this year for PC (Steam and Epic Games), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. You can expect a mix of theme park and sandbox, with a strong focus on PvE content for solo players and small groups of 3, 5, or 10 players (PvP is available, but should be optional).
