The Animals are a group of street fighters who consciously want to abandon their humanity. Instead of conventional electronic implants, they seek to push the boundaries of human capabilities and develop into a kind of subspecies.
They don’t just stop at cosmetic changes like subdermal implants or surgical adjustments like a predatory jaw or artificially grown muscle implants. They also use ultra-testosterone and animal supplements like horse growth hormone to become as large and superhumanly strong as possible.
To test and compare their progress against each other, they challenge one another in physical duels and other trials to emerge as the most brutal and unbeatable machines possible. This makes them not only fierce martial artists but also popular doormen and bodyguards for other gangs and corporations.
The Animals do not have their own territory and tend to appear in small groups that – similar to the Scavengers – elect the strongest “alpha male or female” as their leader.
As a gang, they organize underground fights and sell (mostly anabolic) drugs of their own production. For this reason, some groups have targeted pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies during their raids, but with the right payment, they are also unafraid of extortion or the occasional hired assassination.
