Even if Scavengers have the same danger level as 6th Street, it is primarily their morality that makes them a far worse crew than the nostalgia-soaked ex-soldiers. The Scavengers, also known as Scavs, are a crew of the worst kind, as every other gang and every citizen can agree.
Their main source of income is the market for body modifications, cyberware, and organs. And to serve this market, the Scavs do not wait for random deaths; they begin to “harvest” themselves. Because while people urgently need these cheaper “second-hand” products, the Scavs are the ones who can procure them without moral concerns. What matters to them is profit alone.
They are the main suppliers of illegal cyberware – and not just for shady gangs. Also Ripperdocs and other clients who do not want to be linked to these crimes are among their customers.
When Scavs strike, not much remains of their victims donors, as they can utilize almost everything. The few remains that cannot be sold on the black market are either burned, sunk, or otherwise disposed of.
The major weakness of the Scavengers is their lack of territory and a unified leadership. The small groups are each led by the strongest, most unscrupulous, or most dangerous member, which means that the Scavs, as a gang, cannot present a strong organization. Nevertheless, the Scavs continue to be considered a plague in Night City, a result of the impoverished society that sees no other choice but to devour itself.
