For several months now, the transition to the new servers has been taking place inLord of the Rings Online. Now, the developers have set a deadline for when you must move in order to continue playing.
Why will the character be deleted? In Lord of the Rings Online, there will be a major transition to the new and improved 64Bit servers in 2025. Players need to move from their old worlds to one of the new servers. The transition does not happen automatically, and players must actively choose a server where their character will live from now on.
The developers have a clear goal: All characters should eventually be on the 64Bit servers. While many of the active players have already moved, the remaining 32Bit players do not have much time left. The developers have now set a deadline by which everyone must relocate.

Those who do not move will lose their character
By when must you move? The developers are giving all players time until August 31st to place their character on a new server. Anyone who has not moved by then will lose access to their character.
Later, but probably not directly from September 1st, there should be the option to restore the character for two years. These so-called “dark worlds transfers” do, however, have further disadvantages. Because the servers will be offline, you will no longer be able to make changes, and some of your possessions could be lost as a result.
How do I transfer my characters? To transfer your characters, you need to download the “Lord of the Rings Online” launcher and click the “Transfer” button after logging in.
Then select the world and the character to be transferred, and specify which server you want to play on from now on. You can also choose whether you want to take your “shared items with other characters” or not.
If your character name is already taken on the new server, your character will be called “CharacterName-1” from then on. However, you will receive a free option to change your character with the command “/changename CharacterName”.
Even if you haven’t checked your characters for years, it definitely makes sense to transfer them if you ever want to return to Lord of the Rings Online.
