The teaser for the Minecraft movie was not well received by fans. One player took it upon himself to recreate the entire trailer in the game and was able to excite the fans so much that they are now demanding a full version of the film.
On September 4, the first teaser for the upcoming Minecraft movie was released. Starring in the lead roles are Jason Momoa and Jack Black, among others.
The teaser shows the main actors in their normal human form as they enter a color-saturated angular Minecraft world. However, the teaser did not excite fans much. While they wanted a Minecraft movie, definitely not like this.

Fanmade teaser excites fans
What kind of mock teaser is this? 3D artist Alumio posted on X and YouTube a video where he recreated the teaser for the Minecraft movie exactly in Minecraft itself. The sound is the same, but the animation consists entirely of Minecraft elements.
While Alumio does not reach the view counts of the original trailer, he has two million views, while Warner Bros. has 32 million, the dislike ratio is significantly higher for the original teaser. Warner Bros. has over a million dislikes, while Alumio has just over 400. The dislikes are hidden on YouTube and can only be displayed with tricks.

What do fans say about the animated teaser? Fans find that the animation of the world, characters, and animals looks better than the original. One user on X said: “This is ironically a million times better than the original.”
Fans directly demanded a full version from the 3D artist as soon as the film is released. Cyranek commented on this in the YouTube comments: “I expect the animated full version [of the film] shortly after the release.”
Alumio is not the only one: You can find numerous videos on YouTube regarding an animated version of the Warner Bros. teaser. It shows that fans of the franchise do not need a star-studded cast to be happy, but want to see their franchise faithfully on the big screen.
The Minecraft movie teaser has so far convinced only a few. Especially kids seem to be looking forward to the film, but not really the adult target audience. At least that is what Twitch streamer Trymacs says, the main target audience: Well-known streamer finds the look of the Minecraft movie too childish – “People like Gronkh play Minecraft”
