The MeinMMO readers' thoughts on WoW Classic after launch

We asked for your first impression of WoW Classic and you responded. The result is clear.

A few days ago, we wanted to know how your first impression of WoW Classic is. After all, the first impression is often crucial to whether one continues to follow a game or quickly sets it aside in frustration. Many of you participated in the survey, allowing us to present the results here.

WoW Classic is extremely popular

At least our survey speaks a clear language: WoW Classic is extremely popular among our readers.

30% are completely enthusiastic and find WoW Classic much better than expected.
31% are less euphoric but are having a lot of fun.

Dera n0x describes it this way:

I am absolutely thrilled by how lively the general chat is, how helpful people are to each other (buffing, healing, or helping with quests). This sense of community is something I’ve always missed in Retail WoW. I am looking forward to the many hours I will spend in Classic 🙂

Even many retail fans must admit that they like Classic.

There are only a few negative voices: The few negative voices in the survey are completely overshadowed. Only 8% of participants assessed WoW Classic as “negative” or “somewhat negative,” because:

4% believe that many things are bothering in WoW Classic
4% find WoW Classic terrible. They are having no fun at all.

Every fifth player is still undecided: However, there is still a large part of players who have not yet made a decision. The reasons for this vary. Some want to hold off on making a decision so early, while others are unable to play due to long queues preventing them from doing so.

For example, mordran says:

At the moment it’s more World of Waitcraft than anything else, to put it mildly, Blizzard has not exactly shone. But overall, aside from the queues and the ridiculous discussion about the LFG addon, it’s fun. The experience with people forming groups, helping each other, etc., has been consistently positive so far, and I hope it stays that way.

By the way: In a few weeks, we will repeat the survey and see if the motivation and joy in WoW Classic can withstand the long-term test. Let’s see if the numbers point in a different direction or if even more players feel drawn to Classic.
