A new comic reveals who is behind the evil Professor Junkenstein in Overwatch and discloses where the heroes actually come from …
Currently, everything in Overwatch revolves around the special Halloween loot boxes, as the Overwatch Halloween Terror is active until November 1st. Besides the loot boxes, the temporary game mode “Junkenstein’s Revenge” also offers a bit of PvE action as a break from the typical PvP routine in Overwatch.
But Professor Junkenstein’s Revenge is more than just a new game mode where waves of Zomnics are eliminated and points are scored. After all, the game is supposed to tell a little story.
Junkenstein’s Revenge is told in the comic
However, not all details of the story fit well and coherently into a shooter, where attention must constantly be focused on the gameplay, so the story is partly told through other means. For Halloween 2017, Blizzard has now released a new comic that narrates the fictional story in the Overwatch universe, about the second night of the terrible Junkenstein.
Because after the unknown heroes had defeated Junkenstein the previous year, the haunting was only temporarily over. The witch from the woods revived Junkenstein again, whose wrath and thirst for revenge were far from quelled. To prevent the mistakes of the previous year from repeating, the witch also summoned her other servants, who were bound into servitude through blood oaths.

What do you think of the comic and the way Blizzard gives such “absurd” skins a storyline? Is this cleverly done or clearly “over the top”?
By the way, Overwatch has reached a new milestone. More than 35 million players are now involved!
