Rank 3: Boromir
Boromir is part of the 9 companions and for this reason very important to the plot of The Lord of the Rings. He is sent by his father as a representative of Gondor to Rivendell. Even then, it is clear how ambitious Boromir is. He wants to achieve great things and protect Middle-earth from evil.
He would even go so far as to use the One Ring himself. And therein lies Boromir’s great weakness: He falls under the ring’s allure and even tries to take it from Frodo during the journey. Nevertheless, Boromir convinces mainly because of his talent in combat. Just before his death, he stands alone against numerous Uruk-hai to save the hobbits Merry and Pippin from certain doom. In Middle-earth, strength often lies in the sacrifice one makes for peace.
