Battlefield 6 struggled with issues at launch. Players who were unable to play due to a bug at launch will receive at least a small compensation from EA.
What was the problem? At the launch of Battlefield 6, there was a major disruption in the EA App on the first day. Numerous players who had purchased the shooter there reported that they could not access the game despite installation. Instead, the error message “Purchase required” appeared – even though the game had already been paid for.
For several hours, affected players were unable to start either the multiplayer or the campaign. Even restarting, repairing the files, or reinstalling did not help. Battlefield head Vince Zampella commented on the situation by asking a fan if he could return the game and buy it on Steam.
EA rewards players as compensation for launch frustration
What compensation is there for affected players? To apologize for the outages, EA is distributing several in-game gifts to players who were affected by the issue. In a statement on X, the developers explained:
“We know how frustrating this has been, so we wanted to apologize – with a few extras.”
Players will receive 12 hardware and 12 career boosts as compensation through the in-game mailbox, which will help you level up quickly. Additionally, all affected users will receive full access to a seasonal Battle Pass. The first Battle Pass will be available with Season 1, which starts on October 28.
Players who own the Phantom Edition of the game will get access to the complete Battle Pass of Season 2, as they have already purchased the Season 1 Battle Pass by buying the edition.
There were also issues on Steam
Are there also errors on Steam? Yes, not only the EA App was affected. Some Steam players were also faced with difficulties: When trying to start Battlefield 6, the message appeared that the game was “not yet released”.
The developers then confirmed the error and reported that they were working on a solution. Until the issue is resolved, they also provided possible workarounds that may help you.
