An actor from the movies surrounding the wizard Harry Potter has earned quite a lot in relation to his screen time. Even more than the lead actor Daniel Radcliffe.
Which actor is it? Already in the first installment of the Harry Potter film series, Tom Felton played his character Draco Malfoy with full dedication. The nasty nature of the character was reflected in his smirking smile and condescending behavior.
Draco was already a bully back then, as he is in the book. He became Harry’s rival at Hogwarts, whether in wizard duels or in Quidditch, the broomstick sport, which can also be played virtually today. Over the course of the story, Draco developed into a fundamentally tragic figure.
Tom Felton, who played Draco in all eight films, really can’t complain about a low salary. Because relative to his actual screen time, he is the highest earner in terms of salary.

A lot of money for little screen time
How much did Felton earn? In relation to his screen time, Felton earned more than any other actor. Specifically, around 500,000 US dollars per minute of film.
In total, Malfoy appears for only 31 minutes and 45 seconds – in all eight films, which add up to more than 19 hours in total.
This is surprising at first, after all, Felton as Malfoy is memorable and one of the most famous characters from the Harry Potter world. In the little time that the character is on screen, however, the actor has made quite a lot of money.
Even lead actor Daniel Radcliffe cannot match his colleague. Understandably, Radcliffe is seen much more often, which lowers his per-minute rate – to still a remarkable 160,000 US dollars. He was on screen for 539 minutes.
Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, who play Hermione and Ron, earned 195,000 and 170,000 US dollars per minute, respectively, but are also seen less than Radcliffe. Compared to conventional salaries, this all sounds incredibly absurd – just like Johnny Depp’s fee, who received a staggering 16 million US dollars for a spin-off of the Potter saga.
Alan Rickman, who played Snape, was on screen for 45 minutes and was one of the biggest stars in the ensemble, especially at the beginning. His salary was likely significant, although how much exactly is unknown. It is well known that lead actor Daniel Radcliffe had some respect for the nasty Snape – he is grateful for their time together today.
