The new game in the universe of League of Legends is about to be released. In an interview, the Game Director revealed some information about the release.
What game is it? The new game in the universe of LoL is a fighting game called 2XKO and will launch in Early Access on October 7, 2025. The Closed Beta already started in September, where MeinMMO editor Nikolas Hernes was able to play for several hours and had a great time.
In 2XKO, you can select two champions from a roster of well-known LoL champions and enter the battle. You can switch your characters or call them for assistance to support you in combat with specific attacks.

What does the head of 2XKO say about the release? In an interview with Edge Magazine, Game Director Shaun Rivera spoke about the upcoming Early Access release of 2XKO.
Rivera stated that he is excited but also a bit scared, and the launch will be somewhat bumpy, as being a “team without fighting game experience,” they will make some mistakes: “We are the kind of team that wants to try things out. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it will fail, but we will try.”
Additionally, Rivera explained in the interview that they are a team developing a fighting game for the first time and are not reusing old animations. They design each playable character from scratch. Therefore, the roster will be a bit small at the start.

What does the head say about future plans: Rivera also revealed that the team has many more champions in various stages of development and he can’t wait to introduce the new characters to players and see how they fight with them.
2XKO is about to be released, and part of the community is already excited about the game.
