Once leveling a character in WoW: The War Within from level 70 to 80 is quick. However, a professional from Echo had bigger plans and paid the physical price for it.
Which pro player from WoW are we talking about? Anyone who regularly follows the World-First Races or the MDI tournament of World of Warcraft knows Gingi. The experienced player from Echo (previously Method) has participated in numerous World-First kills and can call himself a six-time MDI champion.
It was indeed Gingi who had quite a few plans for the early access phase of WoW: The War Within. The goal: to level a total of 17 (!) characters to level 80 in preparation for the first season of the new expansion.
Here you can watch a well-staged sequence from WoW: The War Within:
I do not recommend trying this
What happened to Gingi? The WoW streamer and podcaster N_Tys published a short clip from Gingi’s stream on X, showing that the level grind had temporarily led the Echo player into the new dungeon “Ara-Kara, City of Echoes” (which is a fitting name).
In one moment, Gingi is saying something, and in the next, his hunter “Gingitwo” is caught by a stun effect from a “Blood Overseer”. When the stun ended, the marksman stood still while the rest of the group attacked the next opponents. What happened? Well, Gingi had fallen asleep. The long grind took its toll.
Later, the pro player commented on the situation on X: “This is what it looks like when you level 17 chars on the first day to level 80. I do not recommend trying this. I just woke up and feel refreshed, so let’s go!”
