In Helldivers 2, players are currently building a gigantic space station, but they likely have a long way to go until its completion.
What is the space station all about? In Helldivers 2, the construction of a space station has begun, named the Democracy Space Station (short: DSS). This is meant to become a powerful strategic weapon that will help you liberate a planet.
- In order to build the space station, players had to secure an orbital construction site in a previous general order. The order began on September 24, 2024. The Helldivers successfully completed the order.
- Now the first of four construction phases has begun, initiating a new general order: Players must liberate the planet “Turing” from the robots so that a new research center for xenoentomology can be opened there. This means that research on alien insects will be conducted there in the future.
- The research center is expected to develop new, powerful drives capable of moving a “gigasttructure” like the space station. This has not been possible until now and is an important step toward the completion of the DSS.
Which planet the DSS will be located at after its completion and assist in liberation will be decided democratically. A voting system for the Helldivers will be introduced for this purpose.

Construction of the space station could bring a series of orders
Why do you have to put in so much effort? The latest general order shows us that the construction of the space station will likely be a lengthy process.
The first construction phase already brought a new general order that requires the liberation of a planet. This suggests that each construction phase will consist of at least one general order. Therefore, you will probably have to successfully complete 4 general orders in sequence to finish the DSS.
It is also unclear how a failed general order will affect the construction. It has been previously mentioned that the space station is extremely vulnerable to attacks during the construction phase (via X.com). Therefore, you will also need to defend the space station while advancing its completion.
It certainly has no effect on the galactic war that Over-Earth is now experimenting with alien bugs at the robot front to develop new drives.
Fortunately, the Helldivers are prepared for any dangers with the new war bond “Chemical Agents” and can now even heal their comrades from a distance: With the new war bond “Chemical Agents” in Helldivers 2, you will become the best medic on the team
