Since a new update, Where Winds Meet evaluates the strength of your character with a new metric that resembles the horsepower (HP) of cars, only in a fun way.
What is this metric? Since launch, Where Winds Meet has indicated the strength of your build with a kind of gear score, reflecting your equipment, skills, arsenal collection, and upgrades. With a new update, the developers have added this value, alongside a second value: Geese.
This number is supposed to tell you how many geese your character can likely take on with their current build. The author’s alter ego currently has a gear score of 10,464 and a goose value of 1,047, meaning: They would probably survive a fight against a goose.
You are something special, Goose
Why geese? The new goose power reminds of the horsepower (HP) of cars. However, it’s a gag from the developers because the geese from Where Winds Meet have become a popular meme since launch.
If you anger such a goose, it can transform into one of the toughest opponents you can encounter in the open world of Where Winds Meet.
You can also make use of the geese’s fighting power and summon a gigantic goose as a companion in certain fights (Source: YouTube). Or you learn the mythical martial arts skill Goose Terror, which causes high area damage through a honking attack.
In the shop, you can find the Weißbrauengans as a mount, which you can ride … um … balance on, and which can be upgraded so that 5 geese accompany you on your travels. And on the official Discord channel, the developers communicate with their Goose Overlord with the community.
What does the future bring? The current season 1 of Where Winds Meet lasts until February 5, 2026. What comes next is hinted at by the Chinese version of the game, which has been out for almost a year and features more regions, story acts, and challenges.
