Nintendo officially presented the second movie in the Mario universe, “Super Mario Galaxy,” at the Nintendo Direct.
What kind of movie is this? The Super Mario Bros. movie was the last film featuring the well-known video game hero Mario. For decades, the plumber in the red cap has been jumping across screens, fighting the evil turtle Bowser, and rescuing Princess Peach.

The film is again being created in collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination and is expected to be released on April 3, 2026.
