Today the demo for FIFA 19 is starting. What time does it start in Germany? When can I begin the download and what does New Zealand have to do with the release? The demo is now live on PS4, Xbox and PC.

Play FIFA 19 today: Countless fans have the chance to play FIFA 19 for the first time today, on September 13th. This is the demo release – which means you can download and install a preview version of FIFA 19 and extensively test the new gameplay.
The time for the demo download: The demo has been available on PS4 since 4 PM. The same goes for PC. It went live on the Xbox Store a few minutes later.
Update 4 PM: The demo is now showing in the PSN Store! Here is the link to the store. On the PS4, the PlayStation Store is overloaded and loading takes forever. It might take a while for you to download the needed game files. Go to the PS Store on your PS4 and select “Games” on the left side. Now go to “Demos” and click on Overview. There you will find the FIFA 19 demo at the top.
The demo is 7.450 GB on PS4.
- Here you can find the demo for PC. Click on “Try First”. Then the demo will be displayed. Origin is loading slower than usual as well. The rush for the FIFA 19 demo seems to be enormous.
- Here you can find the demo in the Xbox Store
Server connection fails: When you are in the demo, the game occasionally tries to connect to the EA servers in the menu. Currently, these attempts fail. However, you can still play.

What does New Zealand have to do with the release of the FIFA 19 demo?
If you look around in the FIFA forums and Facebook groups, you will often come across the term New Zealand. Why is that?
They want to play before everyone else: Many fans want to be particularly clever to be able to play first in Germany. For example, they create a PSN account that is registered in New Zealand, as they assume that the “FIFA 19” demo will be available in the store there earlier. Australia is also a popular country that is indicated when creating an account.
However, as of now (September 13th, 8 AM), it is still not possible to download the demo in New Zealand. There is nothing left to do but wait.
Demo progress is not carried over
There will likely be a global demo release around 7 PM German time anyway. However, there is no information from EA about this.
Please note that progress from the demo cannot be carried over to the main game FIFA 19. From this perspective, it is not worth quickly creating accounts from other countries right now.

Demo game modes
You can test these modes:
- The Journey Champions: This is the third and final part of the story mode of FIFA. In the demo, you will likely play a match and experience some cutscenes from The Journey 3. You can read everything that happened in The Journey so far here.
- Champions League: In the demo, you can play the probably biggest innovation of FIFA 19, the Champions League. This is likely done through the new kickoff mode that includes Champions League matches.

There are 10 playable teams in the demo, including two German teams:
- Juventus Turin
- Real Madrid
- Manchester United
- Manchester City
- Bayern Munich – You can find all official ratings from Bayern here.
- PSG
- Atletico Madrid
- BVB – You can find all official ratings of the Dortmund players here.
- AS Roma
- Tottenham Hotspur

There is no information about the stadiums in the demo.
Download for PS4, Xbox One and PC – Switch not included

- PC – You can download and install the demo today via Origin
According to the official infographic, there will be no demo for the Switch. Also, last-gen consoles PS3 and Xbox 360 will be left out.
