In Destiny 2, the Halloween event Festival of the Lost will soon be celebrated for the first time. Bungie has now provided further details about the upcoming festivities.
The Festival of the Lost in Destiny 2 is held in honor of fallen Guardians. The survivors in the Tower and in the Last City want to commemorate their loved ones who have fallen and celebrate the fact that they themselves are still alive to continue fighting in honor of the dead. This time, the festival brings more than just the collection of masks.
Festival of the Lost – Here’s what you should know about the Halloween event
When does it start? The celebrations will begin on Tuesday, October 16, with the Weekly Reset.

Who is the contact person during the event? Since Eva Levante has been missing since the city fell, the shipwright Amanda Holliday will take over her duties.
What is there to do for the Guardians?
New Triumphs: As part of the festival, there will be new Triumphs waiting to be unlocked by the Guardians. This will probably only be possible during the event.
New Bounties: Amanda Holliday will offer Daily Bounties. Guardians will receive Soul Fragments for successful completions. With them, they can acquire various event-specific items such as Festival Masks.

New Activity – The Haunted Forest: In this alternative, creepy version of the Everfall, Guardians are tasked with driving away ghouls and demons that have spread there.
The goal is to delve as deep as possible into the Haunted Forest within 15 minutes to vanquish the Nightmares, Ghouls, and Demons. The deeper one goes into the Haunted Forest, the more difficult it becomes.
This activity can be done solo or in a fireteam. For those who cannot form a solid fireteam, the player search is active.
By the way, the DLC I “Curse of Osiris” is not required to play in the Haunted Forest. The new location will be selected via its own marker and is not tied to Mercury.

A new questline: Master Ives – the Cryptarch from the Reef in Destiny 1 – has apparently been murdered. As part of the new quest, Guardians must solve this murder case and avenge their fallen friend. By working a second job as a detective, one can earn an additional powerful reward each week.
This questline will start on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
These are the rewards of the Halloween event

Festival Masks: With the earned Soul Fragments, you will be able to purchase various “Festival of the Lost” masks from Amanda Holliday.
Event-Specific Weapon: With Soul Fragments, you will also be able to acquire the legendary auto rifle “Grim Story” from Amanda. This is apparently a weapon inspired by the event’s theme. It is not yet known whether this firearm will have special properties or if there will be more than just this one weapon.
Event-Specific Armor: For each class, there will be a unique armor set as part of the festival.
Event-Specific Eververse Content: With each level-up after reaching the maximum character level, Guardians will earn an additional Fleeting Engram along with every Sturdiness Engram during the festival. These Engrams contain event-specific rewards such as thematically inspired ghost shells, ships, sparrows, or emotes.

Just like during the Crimson Days and the Solstice of Heroes, a knockout system will be active. This means: You will receive new items from the special event Engrams until you have collected all items. Only then will you start receiving duplicates.
For all those who want to buy certain items directly, Tess Everis also offers rewards from Fleeting Engrams in the Glimmer Store of the Eververse for instant purchase. If desired, Fleeting Engrams can also be purchased with real money.
Are you looking forward to the Halloween festival? What do you think of the event rewards shown so far?
