The Fallen Charger in World of Warcraft is sought after. We reveal how you can obtain this mount.
With Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination, Blizzard has fulfilled many wishes for one group: collectors of mounts and pets. There are plenty of new creatures to obtain. One particularly coveted creature is the “Fallen Charger” (Fallen Charger). Obtaining it can take a while – but its appearance is definitely worth it.
Update 16.07.2021: Since the latest hotfix, each character can loot the Fallen Charger only once per day. However, the drop chance for the mount has been tripled!
What is the Fallen Charger? The Fallen Charger is a rather magnificent mount from the Maw. It actually consists only of a shadowy figure but wears a luxurious, golden armor. This gives the undead horse an extremely noble look and makes it a perfect addition to many transmog sets – or just to show off a little.
Where can you find the mount? In the Maw, near the current covenant assault. The current covenant assault will be indicated on your map. The Fallen Charger always appears near the assault and announces itself with a zone-wide emote:
An earsplitting whinny echoes across the Maw as the Fallen Charger begins its ride.
If you see this emote, then the Charger has just appeared. You only have a few minutes to find the creature and engage it in combat. If you fail to do so, it reaches the edge of the Maw and another emote appears:
Fallen Charger releases a final mournful whinny as it fades away.
In that case, no one has managed to stop the Charger and it simply despawns.

What tips should one consider? A whole lot, because the Charger can cause many problems. The important thing is:
- The Charger starts slowly but rides faster over time.
- The Charger hits extremely hard. Cloth classes should not try it solo.
- The Charger has a respawn time of 1-6 hours. If you just missed it, prepare for a long wait.
- The Charger does not guarantee its mount drop. The drop chance is about 5% – 6%.
It is definitely worth taking a look at the group finder in the Maw. Just look for groups waiting for the “Fallen Charger”. Often players will indicate how long they have been waiting. In a group, your chances are also significantly higher of defeating the swift horse – as it can deal heavy damage and quickly take down many heroes.
Be kind and take your time: Lastly, it should be said that you should behave kindly when it comes to this mount. Due to the long spawn time, many players search for it for a long time. When you finally spot the creature, you should not immediately shoot it down. Apply some spell or effect so that you have “tagged” the Charger and then take your time until other players can join.
You would also wish that other players wait until you arrive, right?
We wish you good luck in hunting for the Fallen Charger – and enjoy it once you finally manage to get it.
