Fortnite: Battle Royale has been available for a while on the Nintendo Switch. But now a special bundle is coming with an exclusive skin that is available only for Switch players.
What’s included in the Switch bundle? The new offer for the Switch includes the following items:
- A Switch console with the usual accessories
- Fortnite pre-installed
- 1,000 V-Bucks (about 10 Euros)
- Double Helix skin bundle.
What is the price of the Fortnite Switch? The price of this bundle is identical to that of a regular Switch. So it costs 300 dollars in the USA. Prices in Europe are not yet known but are expected to be similar.
When will the Fortnite bundle be available? The offer is expected to go live on October 5, 2018.
All about the Switch exclusive skins
What skins and outfits are included in the bundle? The “Double Helix” package contains a white-red outfit, a matching back bling, a special pickaxe, and a cool glider.
Can you get the skins in other ways? Unfortunately no, the Double Helix bundle is unique to the Switch. However, you can use the skins on your account on other platforms by linking your Switch with your Epic account. Just be careful, if you’ve already linked your account to a PS4, you cannot link it with the Switch anymore.
Is the bundle worth it? 300 Euros is a hefty price for which you only get 10 Euros in in-game currency and four skins. If you are a Fortnite fan, don’t have a Switch yet, and want to get one, you can’t go wrong here.
However, whether it’s worth buying the Switch just for the skin is debatable.
Will every platform now get its own skin bundles?
Are more exclusive skins coming? With the announcement of the Switch skins, there is a growing impression that Epic wants to offer exclusive content for each platform. It all started back then with the PlayStation 4, which offered the coveted Royal Bomber in a bundle with a new PS4 Slim.
Then Samsung came out with the Galaxy skin, which was only available for customers of the expensive Note 9 or the somewhat cheaper Galaxy Tab S 4.
Currently, rumors are increasing that there will soon be a bundle for the Xbox One for Fortnite with more exclusive skins.
