The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) has a lot of mounts to offer. In July, it will also get a ram and the community is excited.
What kind of mount is this? The Elder Scrolls Online has given a preview of the Crown Store items for July. Included is also a new mount, a ram with large horns, a saddle, and reins.
The Yorgrim Ram will be available starting July 9, and the price is still unknown. However, the mount will likely be available normally and not through loot boxes. So far, there is only a description of the majestic ram:
In the context of an annual competition, participants must ride their potential prize up a mountain and then down again at full speed – and that without a saddle and without falling off. Most rams intentionally send their riders into the air to make it clear that the ram chooses its rider itself.

The new mount sounds pretty ram-like. However, once you can call it your own, it is a loyal companion. The players are already enchanted, and the ram is a star in the ESO Reddit.
The community is hyped
Already on the day of release, July 1, a post on Reddit received 1,600 upvotes and 145 comments in no time. Players are celebrating the new ram mount for various reasons.
Some are excited about more variety in mounts. The last mounts were often horses, senche (riding cats), or wolves. A ram fits well in the mix.
The players’ hopes and expectations for the new mount are high. Some have realistic ideas for the ram and wish to be able to climb mountains with it like in Skyrim. After all, the latest expansion brought Skyrim to ESO:

In Skyrim, a player could almost climb every mountain with their horse. Even vertical walls were often not a problem. You can see what that looks like in this video, which ends with a very nice fall:
Other players have less realistic expectations, but they are quite funny. They wish for a ramming function to compete against other players or to mow people down in PvP.
That this ram mount is again only available for crowns and thus real money seems to bother very few. Some on Reddit even emphasize that they are willing to spend their money on new mounts. This includes my MeinMMO colleague Jürgen Horn, who tried his luck with the last loot boxes.
There is more in the showcase
However, the Crown Store has even more treasures ready in July. Also celebrated in the community are the new companions (via Reddit), two dogs, and a mysterious cat from Razum-dar, which was gifted to him:
- The Great Dane is available from July 2 to July 8.
- You can get the Ironclad Avalanche Dog just like the ram starting July 9.
- The Ja-Khajiit Raz will be available during an event, more information about which will be coming soon.
Whether the companions have a use, like the new rat pet in ESO, remains to be seen. Additionally, the Crown Store will also have a lot of decorations and costumes. There will also be crafting styles and furnishings.
But the coolest new item is probably the ram. We are excited to see what this new mount has in store for us. It is presumably just a mount, but an extremely stylish one.
