With the upcoming DLC Dark Brotherhood, the Gold Coast will be introduced as a new area in the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online.
The Gold Coast, actually the Colovian Coast, is the westernmost region of the old Empire on the continent of Tamriel. Here is the coastal city of Anwil, which is controlled by Governor Fortunata ap Dugal.
Anwil is a thriving trade city and has established itself as the dominant power in the region with the help of the Red Sail Pirates and a fleet of privateer ships. Everyone should explore the streets of the city and visit sights such as the historic castle Anwil, the great chapel of Dibella, or the lighthouse of Anwil – while always keeping an eye on their wallet!
Don’t make a Kvatch!
Kvatch is the second-largest city on the Gold Coast. Count Carolus, nephew of the former Emperor, rules the rather quiet city by trying to balance between Fortunata’s ambitions and Primus Artorius’ religious dictates. The Cathedral of Akatosh and the Arena of Kvatch are the main sights. Especially the Arena provides a counterbalance to the otherwise rather sluggish and pious lifestyle of the inhabitants.
North of Anwil, you will find the Hrota Cave. The cave carved from rock is home to criminals but also many dangerous creatures. Therefore, most people make a wide berth around the collection of passages and chambers. Since the well-known vampire hunter Mel Adrys was seen in the vicinity of the cave, many residents of the Gold Coast are now very concerned. The Ayleid ruin Garlas Agea, also known as “Chamber of Secrets,” attracts adventurers and researchers. In the winding chambers, there are said to be many treasures and secrets. However, there are indications that someone – or something – has taken up residence in the ruin.
Much to explore
The old fortress, also known as the Enclave of the Hourglass, has served the Order of the Hour, the War Priests, as a base in recent years. However, siege weapons are now being built there and many supplies are delivered. It is suspected that the War Priests are facing a danger of which nothing is yet known.
