The named submachine gun Valkyria is a weapon that is currently highly sought after among agents. It can not only boost your DPS value, but it also looks stylish and is difficult to obtain. Its shiny golden look with a bit of black and silver already gives it a “bling-bling” status.
Currently, the Dark Zone weapon dealer has the Valkyria in stock, but he does not hand it out to just any passing agent. You must be at least DZ Rank 90 and have 259149 DZ currency in your wallet to be able to acquire this high-end weapon. For many agents, it will probably remain just a dream for now. In The Division, since the update 1.1, there are items that can only be obtained from DZ Rank 75 and 90. But is all that effort worth it for this weapon?
What makes the Valkyria special in The Division
The Valkyria is not only a visually extravagant weapon that is hard to get, but it is also quite useful in combat. It comes with high precision and reload speed values, while the range is anything but good. However, since submachine guns are generally recommended for short distances, this is not a major drawback. - Determined: When you eliminate a target, the cooldowns of your skills are reduced by 9%.
- Competent: After using a skill, the weapon damage is increased by 13.5% for 10 seconds.
- Responsive: Damage is increased by 13.5% when you are closer than 10 meters to your target. Since the weapon’s range is not very high, this talent should be useful for you.
While Responsive is always active, you need high values in firearms and electronics to activate the other two fixed talents.
Furthermore, the Valkyria grants a 21% chance to land critical hits.

If you equip this weapon with mods that increase magazine size and fire rate, the gun becomes a deadly mass destruction weapon – but only at close range. The YouTuber TwoSixNine highly recommends it for this offensive playstyle. Both in PvE and in the Dark Zone, you not only look incredibly stylish, but you also deal massive damage. The Valkyria will enrich every agent’s arsenal – not only collectors will enjoy it.

But is the Valkyria really worth the hard work to reach DZ rank 90? Some agents report that they are rather disappointed with the Valkyria, as they expected more from a weapon with such requirements. Compared to other popular submachine guns, such as the Vector 45 ACP or the Tactical AUG A3P, it does not stand out at all.
While the Valkyria has significantly higher precision and the highest rate of fire among these weapons, its other values are at best average, and its range is even the lowest of the popular SMGs. Also, the fixed talents do not fit every playstyle, as the random talents of other submachine guns allow for more variations and specializations.
