In The Division, there is a sticky grenade meta. One shot is enough to defeat opponents in PvP.
Already at the launch of The Division, the sticky grenade was a popular skill to make the Dark Zone unsafe. Back then, we presented a “sticky grenade skill power build”, but over the months this skill lost its significance. Now the sticky grenade meta is back. How can you defend against it?

Exploit the disadvantages of a sticky grenade build
With gear values of 256, one can reach skill power values sufficient to make the sticky grenade deadly. The required value is around 250,000. However, this also means that sticky grenade types have to sacrifice for firearms and toughness. Use this to your advantage. Shoot them in the face – because they can’t take much.
The best measure: Final Measure
The sticky grenade deals exotic damage. If you want to resist it, you must increase your resistance to exotic damage. The quickest way to do this is by wearing two pieces of the gear set “Final Measure“. This grants a +25% bonus to this value.
Use the ballistic shield in The Division
Surprisingly effective against sticky grenades is the ballistic shield. When you have this skill active, the sticky grenade deals almost no damage to you. As it is now possible to wield a submachine gun with an active shield, this skill becomes interesting for many. The numerous bugs of the past have been eliminated by Massive.
By the way: If another agent is hiding behind the shield, they also take little or no damage. The shield protects everything behind it.
Use the fortification
The fortification was an indispensable skill in The Division 1.3, and now it still has its use. The fortification enhances cover, allowing you to survive nasty sticky grenades that fly towards you.
Avoid chain reactions
Agents with sticky grenade builds will rely on the character talent “Chain Reaction.” This allows them to deal more damage as long as the enemies are close together. Therefore: If you are in a group in the Dark Zone, do not stand too close together to avoid this extra damage.
Use the adrenaline shot
The skill “First Aid” has as a mod the adrenaline shot. This increases resistance among other things, which is why it is worth using this skill before – not just after – the sticky grenade.
The last tip is possible, but unlikely in execution: Counter a sticky grenade with a sticky grenade. The blinding effect causes the other sticky grenade not to detonate.
