In The Division, we take a look at the best builds that can be created since 1.5.
Updates 1.4 and 1.5 revamped the entire gameplay experience in The Division, aiming to bring fun back to the MMO shooter. Weapons, gear sets, and other areas were overhauled to diminish the dominance of certain character setups and to buff other items – offering agents more variety when creating their builds.
Even though this worked well in large parts, builds emerged in the last weeks and months that are superior to others. Leading the pack: AlphaBridge + FAMAS.
The Dominance of AlphaBridge
Just days after update 1.5, many agents noticed: AlphaBridge in combination with the assault rifle FAMAS, introduced with 1.5, is a hot ticket for the new meta – in PvE as well as PvP. Now we know: Yes, there is currently nothing that can contend with this dominance.
The talent of the AlphaBridge set allows you to use six different talents on one weapon – as long as the primary and secondary weapons belong to the same category. Various combinations have been tried out here, such as a deadly mix of AlphaBridge and Urban-MDR, but AlphaBridge and FAMAS reign supreme.
You can create this build with four pieces of the AlphaBridge set (mask, gloves, knee pads, holster), a specialized backpack, and ideally with Barret’s bulletproof vest. Take the superior LVOA-C as your primary weapon and the FAMAS as your secondary weapon, which brings the important talent “Uncomplicated,” increasing weapon damage by a whopping 15% when no precision and stability mods are equipped. Other strong weapon talents include Brutal, Responsive, Competent, Vicious, and Destructive.
The FAMAS assault rifle itself does not have outstanding stats, only its unique talent is interesting. With AlphaBridge, you can apply this to another, more powerful assault rifle. Now also invest in armor and firearms, choose good skills like the Med Kit, and you have an outstanding build.
D3-FNC – A Strong Build for PvE
This build around the D3-FNC set can currently hold its own against the AlphaBridge dominance in PvE. This set specializes in the Ballistic Shield and makes you not just a powerful tank, but also a true DPS machine.
This build is particularly interesting for solo agents who want to run through activities alone while being resilient and dealing a lot of damage. We provide a detailed guide to this D3-FNC build here.
More excellent combinations since 1.5:
- 4x Predator’s Mark and 2x High-End: Choose a strong assault rifle. You gain +8% assault rifle damage and if you hit an enemy 10 times without switching targets, you deal damage over time equal to 50% of the damage dealt.
- 3x Lone Star, 3x Banshee: Currently, light machine guns are top in addition to assault rifles. Over time, they deal a lot of damage and are also strong at range. Thanks to Lone Star, you gain +100% ammunition capacity and +8% LMG damage, and with Banshee, you get an additional +10% damage to targets out of cover.
- 3x Hunter’s Faith, 3x Banshee: Especially interesting for snipers: You gain +10% headshot damage and +10% damage to targets out of cover.

- Here we present an exciting healer build, which allows the skill “First Aid” every 6 seconds.
- Finally, we present in the provided link a strong FireCrest build. This set was introduced with 1.3 and was useless for a long time. Now, good builds are possible with it.
