In The Division, sniper rifles are essential for reliably taking out enemies from a distance. We take a look at Tenebrae, a high-end sniper rifle.
Tenebrae is one of the high-ends in The Division that bears its own name. We take a closer look at this sniper rifle.
Where can I get Tenebrae?
You can currently acquire this high-end sniper rifle from the Dark Zone specialty vendor. The blueprint costs 179 Phoenix Credits and requires level 30 and DZ rank 50. You can then craft Tenebrae with 5 weapon parts, 3 tools, and 3 Division Tech. What the Dark Zone specialty vendor has on offer this week can be found here.
This weapon features a unique skin that cannot be changed.
Tenebrae has these stats
The sniper rifle Tenebrae comes with these stats:
- When you craft this weapon, the damage varies within a certain range and also depends on your firearms score, thus no exact figures can be provided.
- RPM is 275.
- The magazine size is 20.
- The headshot bonus is 171%.
Tenebrae can be enhanced with all possible mods. Thus, you have an influence on these stats. Keep in mind that these values depend on your attributes and the mods you use.
Here are the talents of Tenebrae
The high-end weapon comes with three fixed talents. Additionally, it has a fourth random talent.
- Ready: When a target is eliminated with a headshot, 100% of swing is removed from the weapon for 7 seconds.
- Brutal: Headshot damage is increased by 24% when using this weapon.
- Toxic: Headshots with this weapon have a 13% chance to activate the Blind status effect.
- A random talent.
Remember that you must first unlock the three fixed talents by achieving the required attribute values.
This sniper rifle is thus designed to annihilate enemies with headshots. Headshot damage is already increased for sniper rifles, thus the Brutal talent certainly lives up to its name.
What makes Tenebrae stand out in The Division?
The term “Tenebrae” comes from Latin and means darkness, but also blindness.
The weapon has high accuracy, a reload speed of about four seconds, and good range. Another advantage of the Tenebrae is that with an extended high-end magazine, you can fire up to 49 rounds before needing to reload. Thus, you can generally take down many enemies.
However, the weapon has two notable disadvantages:
- For a sniper build, this weapon is not necessarily recommended, as the damage output is lower than with other sniper rifles. Here, a weapon with a smaller magazine size but high damage would be advisable.
- Additionally, the low stability rarely allows for quick successive shots, as the target must be re-aimed. Thus, quick headshot hits are difficult to achieve.
The community has mixed feelings about Tenebrae. While some regret the purchase and apparently can’t handle it, other users are very satisfied. As long as one has aiming skills, this weapon is top-notch. Therefore, our question:
