Many agents want to reach Max Level 30 in Ubisoft’s MMO shooter as quickly as possible to play the endgame content of the game. The upcoming incursions in The Division can only be played once the agent has reached the highest level. With the following tips, you can efficiently farm experience points to level up quickly.
How many XP do I need to reach Max Level 30?
First, the question arises as to how many experience points your agents need to level up and eventually reach Max Level. There is a formula that you can apply for each level to calculate the required XP. It is as follows:
If you are, for example, at Level 4, you calculate:
1500 + (300 x 4) + 450 x (4)^2, resulting in 9900. That’s how many experience points you need to level up from Level 4 to Level 5.
If you calculate the experience points for the individual levels and add them together, you come to a total of 4,023,750 XP.
To reach Max Level 30, you need a total of 4,023,750 XP.
How do I efficiently farm XP in The Division?
To quickly gain this amount of experience points, there is initially only one way: missions.
Let’s take the following example: you need 9900 XP to level up from Level 4 to Level 5.
If you complete the Level 4 mission “Madison Field Hospital”, you will receive 4400 XP as a mission reward, which is 44.4% of the required experience points to level up.
To level up from Level 5 to 6, you need 14250 XP. When you complete the Level 5 mission where you unlock the security wing, you receive 6350 XP as a completion reward. This is 44.7% of the required experience points to reach Level 6.
As you can see, it is advisable to play the missions quickly to gain a lot of XP. The problem, however, is that each mission only allows you to earn experience points once upon completion. Therefore, you cannot replay the missions to farm XP that way.
By the way: If you play the missions on Hard mode, the XP you earn for completing them remains the same. It is therefore more efficient to play them on “normal” since you receive the same XP for less effort. Killing enemies in Hard mode grants you more XP, but these additional points are so minimal that it hardly pays off.
Once the missions are played on “normal”, what other options are there to level up quickly?
You can also earn many experience points by completing “fights”, which are displayed on the map as you approach them or when you look at the maps in the safehouses. These are usually completed within a few minutes and yield a good amount of XP. However, these can only be completed once.
General tips for quickly gaining XP:
- Make sure to unlock the “Experienced Agent” advantage in the security wing early in the game. This increases XP gain from all activities by 10% – and that forever!
- You can modify and improve your items to grant you additional XP, for example through headshot kills. Once you have reached Max Level, you should focus on other bonuses.
- If you find collectibles or encounter the needy, collect them or help the people. Although this only grants a few extra XP, it doesn’t take long.
What is not worth it to farm XP?
To specifically farm XP, it is not worth running through completed missions and killing enemies. Killing enemies alone takes a long time to reach Max Level. Instead, focus on activities that provide completion rewards in the form of XP.
The Dark Zone: In the Dark Zone, you do not gain experience points to reach Max Level. Here, you only gain DZ experience. If you want to reach Level 30 as quickly as possible, you should initially avoid the Dark Zone.
