In The Division, the PS4 version will receive Pro support. Additionally, there is a known “Dark Zone” change that will come with update 1.6.
Just now, the State of The Game on December 15th aired. Community Developer Hamish Bode had two developers from Red Storm on the couch, who are currently working on the future of PvP and the Dark Zone in The Division. It has been known since last week that update 1.6 will introduce changes to PvP.
Before they talked about PvP, Bode shared: The wait for “PS4 Pro” support is coming to an end. Next week on Tuesday, December 20th, the Survival DLC will be released on PS4 along with Pro support. This announcement comes as a surprise since the developers have hardly spoken about the PS4 Pro until now. What improvements the Pro support specifically brings is unknown. By the way, the CE errors will also be fixed next week on Tuesday.
The Dark Zone will receive leaderboards
The two developers from Red Storm then provided some insights into their work on the Dark Zone:
- The main goal is to bring fun back to the Dark Zone. Just as update 1.4 improved PvE, 1.6 is set to improve the Dark Zone.
- Red Storm is active on Reddit and reads user wishes and suggestions. They understand the agents and intend to make PvP great with 1.6.
- A new feature will be the Dark Zone leaderboards. It will be possible to track almost everything agents do in the Dark Zone and create rankings. These lists will be dynamically displayed in-game at the DZ roadblocks. There will be weekly and monthly leaderboards.
- You will also see on these lists whether you have made it into “Tiers” where rewards are offered. The better you are, the more rewards you will receive. These will be new sealed containers. The specific rewards have not yet been revealed.
- The leaderboards will definitely not be the only thing that 1.6 will bring. More features will be discussed in the future.
- The developers want to reduce the gap between average agents and elite agents in the Dark Zone. Players should not feel like they have no chance against other agents.

More Information:
- Today at 7 PM, the free test weekend starts. Just confirmed: The DLCs Underground and Survival are not included.
- The registration for the Elite Task Force is now closed. Applicants will be notified next week.
