With the update 1.3, a few new weapons were integrated into the game for the agents. Among them are two tasty submachine guns: the PP-19 and the Enhanced PP-19.
Currently, these are among the best weapons in The Division. Especially in PvE, they are said to be outstanding. This raises the question: Why?
What makes the PP-19 stand out in The Division
The YouTuber WOBO has analyzed the numbers and found that the PP-19 is superior to all other submachine guns in terms of damage over time. If you want to see for yourself the power of the PP-19, you can currently find it at the Special Equipment Vendor in the Tech Wing of the Base of Operations. This week, he is selling it with a value of 204 for 629 Phoenix Credits. Other locations include the Underground or the Dark Zone. NPCs and sealed containers can yield the PP-19.
This SMG boasts the largest magazine size by far. Without mods, it holds 53 rounds. The stability of this weapon is also highly praised. However, the base damage suffers a bit, and the fire rate is below average – though solid. Here are the specific stats:
Compared to an AUG or a Vector, the magazine size is more than double. The fire rate is only slightly lower, with AUG at 725 and Vector at 750.
With the PP-19, it is possible to deal significant damage over long periods, as you rarely need to reload. Thanks to its high stability, most shots land on target. In a graph indicating damage over time, the PP-19 stands out:
The PP-19 comes with two random talents and one fixed talent:
- Accelerated: The more critical hits you achieve, the faster you reload. This talent appears on all PP-19 submachine guns. However, it can also be re-rolled.
With the mods, you have to forgo the under-barrel, which is often used to enhance stability. Since the PP-19 already has strong stability, this drawback isn’t too tragic. However, you can expand the magazine, allowing you to fire over 100 rounds with the SMG without reloading. More desirable are likely mods that increase damage.
The large magazine size not only transforms the PP-19 into a powerful submachine gun but also makes it a weapon that is fun to play with. Additionally, the sound of the PP-19 is liked by many agents, further enhancing the enjoyment of the game.

The PP-19 is an outstanding submachine gun that you should definitely try out when you have the chance. Especially in PvE, you can bombard your enemies with bullets. According to some user reports, it performs well in PvP too. However, in the Dark Zone, it is advisable to use a weapon with higher base damage, such as the MP7.
Whether the PP-19 is set for a future similar to that of the overpowered G36 assault rifles remains to be seen.
