In The Division, some agents are already seeing the next global event in the game: Raid.
Tomorrow, on August 22 at 2 PM, the first global event in The Division ends. This is called Outbreak and has been running since shortly after the launch of Update 1.7.
The Outbreak event allows you to make enemy heads “explode” with headshot kills. It looks cool, sounds good, and provides a welcome change, which many agents give a thumbs up.
After this event, gameplay in The Division will return to normal. Many agents are wondering what the next global event will bring, which is expected to start next month.
Everything points to the next event being “Raid”.
Bug in the game – Kudos for Raid are already showing
A few agents are reporting in the Division forums that a new category has appeared in their kudos. This is called “GE Assault” and stands for the global event called Raid: We have also received screenshots from our reader BroSlow, who pointed out this “bug in the game”, showing kudos for the new global event. Here is one of the screenshots:
These screenshots show that an upcoming global event will be called “Raid”. Whether it will really be the next event or an event far in the future cannot be determined based on these screenshots. However, everything indicates so.
Because it was already playable as the second event on the PTS.
What modifiers does Raid have?
If you were actively and intensively involved during the PTS phase on the public test servers for 1.7, “Assault” should already sound familiar to you. This is the event where the distance to the enemy matters.
The modifiers on the PTS were:
- Global modifier: The total agent damage to an enemy is increased when the enemy is nearby.
- “Crucial Assault”: The total agent damage to an enemy is increased when the enemy is nearby. The total enemy damage is increased when the enemy is far away. In other words, you deal more damage up close, and the enemy deals significant damage from a distance.
- Group modifier: The effects of “Crucial Assault” and: When you are close together in your squad, you deal more damage. When the enemy is standing alone, they deal more damage.
In short: In Raid, it’s about playing aggressively. If you want to deal more damage, you need to dive into close combat.
It is not known if there will be any changes to this global event when it goes live in The Division.
