For the upcoming MMO shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division , community representatives have been invited to Sweden. This results in new gameplay material and new praises.
One can see this critically: Developer Massive invites 15 of the “most engaged community members” to Sweden. In a video where they talk about their experiences, they praise the game in the highest terms. Teamplay is fantastic, characters can evolve, and the atmosphere is as dense as one could imagine. New York really gives the impression of a city on the edge of the abyss.
Believe the hype?
One could critically say: What else would they say? After all, they also benefit if The Division becomes a “hype”, gaining success on their social networks. And hey, if one is invited to Sweden and is being taken care of by the developers, that also affects the first impression.

On the other hand, the snippets from the community members align with the experience reports from players of the short closed alpha on Xbox One a few days ago. There, too, the gameplay and the game content that were shown were praised highly. One may wonder whether all these praises have any substance. At the moment, it sounds almost too good to be true, but the typical German skeptic might be speaking out of us.
In 2016, betas for Xbox One, PC, and PS4 are to be released, until the game finally launches in March. The Division is set to become one of the major titles of 2016.
