In Tom Clancy’s The Division, weapon classes have different bonuses on headshot damage.
To efficiently take down enemies in Ubisoft’s MMO shooter, you shouldn’t just shoot wildly around. Precise shots to the head are the proven way to quickly chip away at the enemy’s health. All weapons in The Division deal increased damage when the bullets become headshots – unless you use the DeadEYE set talent.
An exciting aspect that has hardly been considered so far: Each weapon class has a special headshot multiplier. This means that weapons receive different damage bonuses when you hit the heads. In-game, only the additional bonus from precision rifles is listed – the base headshot multiplier for all weapons can only be discovered through personal experience. This is not displayed transparently.
Always aim for the head
The YouTuber MarcoStyle has now created a list that indicates this headshot damage multiplier per weapon class. These are the base values:
- Submachine Gun: +50%
- Assault Rifle: +75%
- Shotgun: +80%
- Light Machine Gun: +100%
- Pistol: +100%
- Precision Rifle: +120% + additional bonus
The actual headshot damage also depends on further factors, such as weapon talents and additional bonuses. For example, with light submachine guns, the increased damage to targets out of cover is an additional factor.
Considering these “secret” stats, LMGs become an interesting alternative among the fully automatic weapons. They come with good precision and a strong optimal range, allowing for many headshot hits.
At this point, a note that these numbers for the headshot multiplier are not official. However, this YouTuber is among those who have established themselves as trusted Division experts and are in close contact with Massive.
